My thanks to Ralph, Laura and the reunion committee for all your hard work in setting up the reunion and this website. I'm impressed with it, because I never learned anything about computers at SHS or anywhere else. Is it due to some overachiever from Royal Palm? Hi, Lizbeth, Jacquie and Lisa! Sadly, I can't come to the reunion this year. I do want to send all my love, my very best wishes, and my warmest personal regards (your choice), to all my classmates at SHS, to all those who attended Royal Palm with me, and especially to all those who skated through 6th grade with me in Mr. Chadwick's Fife and Drum Corps. I'm alive and kicking, but still a bit daffy. I've quit drinking whiskey, given up trying cases to juries, and otherwise retired from lawyering altogether. I'm single again (ladies??!!), and living quietly up here in Camp Verde, truly one of Arizona's most sophisticated and refined outposts of culture, civilization and higher learning. And, if you believe that description of this town, I sure could have used you on a couple of the aforementioned juries. I really like the "single again" option. It makes no sense, because you're single 'til you get married and you're married 'til you're otherwise. Then, they call you otherwise. But, it's just SO much less pathetic than "still single." I digress. Have a great time at the reunion. Please stay safe and be well. Two of my three best friends at SHS are listed on the Memorials page. They've both been gone for some time now, but remembering them, particularly Dan, who was my friend from childhood, still pains me deeply. The thing is we are about all we have left from when we were young and in many cases from when we were little kids. That's something truly worth keeping. So, be good to yourselves and to each other. I hope to see you all at the 50th reunion. 'Til then, I'd love to hear from anyone who might care to get in touch anytime in the next 10 years or so. |
