Steve was very kind to my family in the early years after high school. Both my parents had died & he stepped in and taught my younger brother how to shave and tie a tie. He was on a concert committee at U of A, and at one point tried to organize a benefit concert for the U of A Cancer Center there, in honor of my parents. We had not chatted in many years and when I heard of his diagnosis, I called him. Although I was sad to hear of his health challenges, it was wonderful to hear that he had been very happily married for the last 18 years to a lovely woman and had a stepson.
